Two Thousand and Eleven Weddings
Bookings for 2011 are 200% higher than bookings for 2010 were at this time 2009! Next year appears to be one that will be challenging for Brides to find quality Providers.
In the past 2 years, we have seen an explosion of novice Photographers enter the World of providing Professional Services for Weddings and Special Events. In 2007, there were 35 "Professionals" in our immediate area. In 2009, it exploded to over 300! This was due to many loosing their real jobs and trying to make a quick buck at the expense of Brides.
What happened was that Brides took 2009 and 2010 off, and postponed their Weddings until better economic times. As a result, Many of the would be Photographers made no money, and had to sell their gear and look elsewhere for the quick buck. We are now at around 100 Photographers in the area, and that number gets lower each day!
We have been in this business for over 15 years, and have never seen better bookings for any one year before! 2011 and 2012 requested have been off the charts! Brides who put off their Weddings are now ready to jump into preparations and plan a Wedding for 2011 or 2012.
This explosion of available Brides, in conjunction with lower numbers of available Photographers, has created THE PERFECT STORM for Brides!
Brides who do not find a quality Professional early will be left with the bottom of the barrel. They will be forced to hire one of the individuals that started their business in the past 2 years who did so just to make a buck . . . somehow. What this Bride will receive is low quality of service, low quality of photographs and an individual who does not have the expertise of providing Wedding Photography and Videography!
HAVE NO FEAR! The best way to combat this perfect storm is to do your grunt work EARLY in the planning process. We book our Clients from 6-12 months out from the Wedding date. So we recommend that Brides search for quality Professionals within 6-15 months from the Wedding. The farther out the Wedding is will give you the better pick of the litter!
What do you look for in a Professional? We are Naples Videography and Photography. We provide Wedding services all over the United States. If your Photographer can travel it means that they are serious about what they do! We have a Photography Studio that we work out of, it gives us a face in the Community and offers you peace of mind in booking with us! and lastly, how many Weddings do they do per year? We book 50 Weddings per year, as a Husband/Wife team we are the hardest Working Photographers in this area! If your Photographer does only a few, it would mean that they are not in high demand, and should present a red flag for you! Come to our Studio and say "Hi" to us!
Of course you have to like the portfolio of the Professional you choose, but ask them if the photos that you are previewing are from them at REAL weddings or if they are just shoots done to look like real work! This is a Wedding Photographers secret, that we do not participate in! When we show our samples, we show real Wedding Photos, not ones that we shot in a controled shoot with a hired model! And what about Pricing? Our Price range is $750-3500. Most quality Photographers charge at least $1500 for Wedding services, unless they are running a special. Good rule of thumb is to set aside at least $1500-3000 for Photography. You will thank yourself after the Wedding that you did!
